What is an "Authorized Dealer"?

Most well respected audio, video, and electronic products

manufacturer warranties automatically VOID if you purchase their

products through an unauthorized dealer, other unauthorized venue,

auction, or the like. The reason for this is simply that these manufacturers

want their products to be sold, set up, and serviced properly.

Authorized Dealers either buy factory direct, or through a factory

authorized wholesale distributor, if available. Manufacturers don't always

list all authorized dealers on their web. Also, many manufacturers

employ Independent Rep firms to call on dealers. But dealer verification

is well worth your time and effort.

So check the manufacturer web sites. If not listed, a simple phone call to

the manufacturer can confirm whether or not a seller buys directly from that manufacturer. If not, ask for the name and phone number of their Rep Firm

or Authorized Wholesaler in your area, and check with them.

If neither the manufacturer, the Rep Firm, nor the distributor can confirm the seller's validity... RUN!: you are NOT dealing with an Authorized Dealer.
